Capturing Light depicts the legend of Raven capturing the sun and placing it in the sky. There are many stories in the Pacific Northwest that explain how things came to be; most of them feature Raven as the central figure.

This serigraph is #2 from an edition of two (2) printer's proofs. The regular edition consists of 100 signed and numbered prints.

This limited edition silk screen print titled "Capturing Light" by Maynard Johnny Jr. was hand produced by the screen printing process. It is the only limited edition printing of this design. The artist has inspected and signed each copy in the edition. All trial copies of this edition have been destroyed and the printing stencils obliterated.
