Joe Wilson's limited edition print, Journey of Hope, shows the male and female Killer Whale in perfect harmony and balance with each other. They are represented in the form of a traditional Coast Salish spindle whorl, one of the most frequent motifs in Coast Salish art .

The design is also reminiscent of the Chinese philosophical concept of yin and yang. The nature of yin-yang lies in the interplay of opposite forces, which rely on each other to exist.

In Northwest coast First Nations cultures, Killer Whales are often called Guardians of the Sea. They are associated with protection, compassion, community and strong family bonds.
