Adam Lewis, born in 1982 and raised in Cape Mudge Village (We Wai Kai) on Quadra Island, BC, is a contemporary Kwakwaka’wakw artist whose work bridges tradition and modern expression. Growing up in the southernmost Kwakwaka’wakw nation, he spent countless hours surrounded by the artistry of his community, nurturing an early appreciation for traditional styles and formline design.
Before returning to his cultural roots, Adam spent 25 years developing his craft in urban environments as a street artist and muralist. His signature freehand approach, vibrant colour choices, and striking compositions earned him recognition for his bold visual storytelling.
In 2021, Adam redirected his creative focus toward the traditional art forms of his ancestors. Today, he produces contemporary Kwakwaka’wakw artworks that honour his heritage while reflecting his evolution as an artist. His pieces embody a powerful fusion of cultural knowledge, personal history, and contemporary artistry.
