Bee is the first print in a series of pollinator prints by Trevor Husband, which will also include Hummingbird, Bat, and Butterfly.

In Northwest Coast Indigenous art, the bee symbolizes community, cooperation, and transformation. Though not as common as figures like Raven or Eagle, it represents the strength found in working together and the harmony between people and the natural world. The bee’s work in collecting food from the land shows how cooperation and care for the environment support everyone’s well-being.

Contemporary Coast Salish, Haida, and Kwakwaka’wakw artists often use bee imagery to express renewal and environmental balance. Its rounded wings and body fit beautifully within formline design, emphasizing connection and flow. Today, the bee also stands as a reminder of resilience, a bridge between traditional teachings of respect for all life and modern movements to protect pollinators and restore the environment.

This limited edition silk screen print titled "Bee" by Trevor Husband was hand produced by the screen-printing process. It is the only limited-edition printing of this design. The artist has inspected and signed each copy in the edition. The printer has destroyed all trial copies and obliterated the printing stencils.
