This design depicts the Raven, a quintessential figure in Haida mythology. The Raven's head is found tucked under a reversed wing. In the upper part of the image, there are lightly suggested tailfeathers. The raven has the ball of light in his beak, making a reference to the Raven Bringing Light Into The World story. The colours in this flowing modern design are non-traditional, giving this print a very cutting edge feel. The Haida Raven is one of a set of four designs. In each of the four designs one finds a "spirit form" connecting each to the other three. In this print, the spirit form is the ball of light. All four designs in this set: Haida Eagle, Haida Wolf, Haida Killer Whale, and Haida Raven can also be purchased together as a set with matching numbers. This limited edition silk screen print titled "Haida Raven" by Lyle Campbell was hand produced by the screen printing process. It is the only limited edition printing of this design. The artist has inspected and signed each copy in the edition. All trial copies of this edition have been destroyed and the printing stencils obliterated.
